Galaxies - The best of Arp

NGC 2872 and NGC 2874 together are nr. 307 in the Arp catalogue of Peculiar Galaxies,
in the category "Double galaxies".

NGC 2872 is a bright elliptical galaxy, NGC 2874 a less bright spiral galaxy which is seen somewhat sideways. I have found no information about their real distances and cannot determine if they are actually close together or only virtually.
